March 23, 24: Depart from your home city (international airfare not included), and fly to Europe for your connecting flight. Transfer airplanes and fly to Entebbe (EBB), Uganda (arriving March 24th). Upon arrival, Rebecca will collect you and transfer to the nearby Viavia Guesthouse, http://viavia.world/en/africa/entebbe.
March 25, 26, 27: Drive through beautiful landscape to Kaliro District, with a short stop in Jinja. Here you will have the rare opportunity to meet the King of Kaliro. After dinner at the guesthouse, you’ll be entertained by local drummers and learn how communication through drumming has been used for generations. Overnight at the Kaliro Guesthouse. The next morning (26th), we’ll make our way north to Namwiwa Town to greet the children of Greenhill Public School where we’ll serve a special breakfast to all of the children. A classic Uganda vs. Canada soccer game at the school will complete our day followed by dinner at the Kaliro guesthouse. On the 27th, return to the school to teach the importance of trees and plant some with the children. In the afternoon, we’ll prepare for an evening of music and fun with the King of Kaliro joining us for the concert and celebrations. Enjoy a late dinner served at the Kaliro guesthouse under the starlit sky!
March 28, 29: Drive to Maari Rock for a short climb to see some beautiful views. Then we’ll make our way back to Jinja for lunch at the Sailing Club, followed by some free time to swim. We’ll have dinner and stay overnight at the Kingfisher Resort in traditional Ugandan bandas. http://www.kingfisher-uganda.net/en/jinja-en/ The next morning (29th), we will tap into our adventurous side and White Water Raft the Nile (not included) OR relax upon board a Nile Cruise (not included) while bird watching. Dinner will be shared as a group in a restaurant of our choice before returning to the Kingfisher Resort
March 30, 31: Drive to Kampala and stay at The Forest Cottages for the next 3 nights. http://www.forest-cottages.com. After lunch, the afternoon will be spent preparing for a concert at the Serena Hotel Theatre. This charity concert will combine talents of the White Pine Dancers from Ontario, local Ugandan musicians and of course, you. After a delicious breakfast the next day (31st), we will head back into town to spend time with the children of Sosolya Dance Acedemy. Interact, teach, learn and enjoy the time with this amazing group of youth, before visiting the Ndere Cultural Centre to enjoy a show of drumming and dancing. http://ndere.com/
April 1: On our last day, we’ll learn some Ugandan history by visiting the Uganda museum and Independence Monument. After some free time for souvenir shopping, the Sosolya Dance Academy will perform for us one final time before we return to The Forest Cottages for dinner and the night. This concludes the trip for those departing Entebbe on April 1 and not going on the Safari. Transfer to the airport in time for you to catch your flight home (arriving home on April 2).
Optional Post-Trip Safari Extension ~ April 2-6, 2018

April 2: Let the Safari begin! Rebecca will wake you up early for breakfast before boarding the open-roof Landcruiser that will take you through the beautiful hills and grasslands of Uganda. Stop in the historic town of Masindi for lunch, before continuing on the eco-award winning Murchison River Lodge where we will stay for two nights. http://murchisonriverlodge.com/
April 3: Spend the morning in the wild, searching for lions, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, kob and warthogs. After lunch, board the River Boat to photograph hippos, elephants, birds, crocodiles and more. Disembark at Faiao Gorge for a 45min hike to the top of Murchison Falls. Return to the lodge for a scrumptious dinner and the night.
April 4: After a final morning wildlife drive, we’ll drive to Kaniyo for a trek in the tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzees that make this region famous. Then drive to the Amuka Safari Lodge, nestled in a pristine woodland forest, to sleep in chalets and enjoy some delicious safari cuisine. http://www.amukalodgeuganda.com/
April 5: Following a delicious breakfast, we’ll experience a Rhino Trek at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. With packed lunch in hands, we’ll make our way back to Entebbe in time for a final dinner together before transferring to the airport in time for our evening international flight home (arriving home on April 6) with memories and photographs of an incredible experience.
