Zambia & Victoria Falls

August 2-12, 2027 | US$ 6,690

August 2 – 12, 2027 | US$ 6,690 per person sharing (international airfare not included)

This will by Dr. Ryan Snider’s sixth time to Zambia, a country that keeps drawing him back, as South Luangwa National Park is widely considered to have the highest density of leopards in the world.  After sleeping in classic safari tents by the river, eating gourmet food, and photographing the full gamut of wildlife, we will fly in a small airplane to ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ — Victoria Falls.  This will be a great opportunity to visit both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides of the Falls during the best time of year, and cruise up the Zambezi River in search of elephants and hippos.

August 2, 3 (2027): Flight to Lusaka, Zambia

Your international flight takes you to Lusaka, Zambia (arriving August 3). Upon arrival, Ryan will welcome you at the airport, before driving you to the nearby Wild Dogs Lodge in time for a delicious ‘welcome to Africa’ dinner!

August 4, 5, 6: South Luangwa National Park

After breakfast and some delicious coffee, transfer to the nearby airport for your small airplane flight (included) over beautiful Zambia to Mfuwe and the famous South Luangwa National Park, where we will spend the next three days at Track & Trail River Camp. This is an intimate safari lodge offering an authentic and unique safari experience, allowing us to relax and unwind between game drives along the beautiful Luangwa River.

August 7, 8: Nsefu Region

After breakfast, drive (2 hours) into the Nsefu region of the Park, where we will spend two nights at Nsefu Tented Camp on the banks of the Luangwa River. Live in the company of the local wildlife which find sanctuary around the camp; including impalas, monkeys, elephants, hippos, leopard, jackal and even a small pride of lion! After your game drive or walking safari, spend some time photographing wildlife in the ‘hide’ next to the water hole. Or relax on your tent’s verandah with a cold drink in hand, while the hippos wallow in the river below.

August 9, 10: Victoria Falls

After a final morning game drive, our drivers will transfer us to the Mfuwe airport in time for our flight (included) to Livingstone, Zambia — home of the magnificent Victoria Falls — in time for lunch. Set on the banks of the Zambezi river, enjoy pristine views of the famous river and the “smoke that thunders”. Spend the next two days relaxing at the beautiful Waterberry Lodge. At 3:30pm, we will drive to the Zambian side of the Falls, and cross ‘the knife bridge’. Return to the Waterberry Lodge for a delicious dinner.

On August 10, we will be collected at 9:30am and transferred across the famous suspension bridge into Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, in order to photograph the Falls from the other side and to visit some souvenir/craft shops. After spending two hours at the Falls, we will drive to the nearby Victoria Falls Hotel for lunch at 12:30pm (pay for what you order). At 2pm, we will transfer back to the Waterberry Lodge for chance to rest and relax before our final dinner in Africa.
