May 2 – QUITO

Upon your arrival in Quito (May 2), Kayla will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, before gathering together with the group for dinner. Hotel Dann Carlton.

May 3 – QUITO

After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing-tour of the city of Quito. As the excursion leads you through the interesting streets of Quito, you will stop at the Equatorial Line Monument called “Middle of the World”. Here you get a truly rare experience to stand in both, the Northern and Southern Hemispheres simultaneously. Hotel Dann Carlton. - Standard Room B/L

May 4 – QUITO – GALAPAGOS

After breakfast depart to Baltra (2.5 hour flight). You will be picked up at the airport by our naturalist guides and taken to the pier to board the M/V Galapagos Legend.

Afternoon Cruise – Bartolome

Considered the most iconic landscape of the entire archipelago the view from the top of Bartolome Island, overlooking the famous Pinnacle Rock is well worth the climb up the wooden boardwalk.

Difficulty level: moderate

  • Duration: 1 ½-hour walk / 1-hour snorkeling

May 5 – GALAPAGOS

Morning Cruise – South Plaza Islet

At the cliff edge, we spend time watching birds fly past at eye level in the up draught. Back at sea level, we once again encounter land iguanas, some of which have hybridized with their resident marine cousins.

Afternoon Cruise – North Seymour Island

See both magnificent and great frigate bird males courting the females. We will also likely see courting blue-footed boobies displaying their unique feet while ‘dancing’ to a prospective mate.

  • Duration: 2 hour walk, 30 minutes snorkeling

May 6 – GALAPAGOS

Morning Cruise – Pitt Point & Islet (San Cristobal Island)

Sea lions will greet us as we land on the beach and prepare for our climb to a high point on the steep eroded tuff cone. This is the only place in the islands where we will enjoy the chance to see all three of the booby species in the same place.

  • Duration: 2.5 hour walk/ 40-minute snorkeling or kayaking

Afternoon Cruise – Cerro Brujo (San Cristobal Island)

From our pangas, as we head to shore, we are first humbled by the immensity of the stunning cliffs. We can enjoy a walk to a hidden lagoon where we might spot black-necked stilts, ruddy turnstones, whimbrels and white-cheeked pintails.

  • Duration: 1 hour walk and 1 hour snorkeling

May 7 – GALAPAGOS TO QUITO

Morning Cruise – Cerro Colorado Tortoise Reserve (San Cristobal Island)

In the moist highlands of San Cristobal, we will visit the giant tortoise breeding center to witness the most iconic creature of the archipelago in its various life stages. After the visit, we say goodbye to the Galapagos Islands. You will be transferred to San Cristobal Airport for your return flight to Quito.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight home, with amazing photos of the incredible flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands.
